Luke Keller Standing Down After 4 Years
After 4 years at the helm, Club President, Luke Keller has decided to step down and will not be standing for re-election at the forthcoming AGM. On behalf of all members, the Committee would like to thank Luke for his contribution to the Club, especially in driving the most complex re-development initiative over the past few years. Luke has moved over to Willoughby, and with an expanding family and a new CEO position, he feels it is time to hand over the reins. Below we see Luke in action at the Club Championships and, in his role as President (L), recognising Ian Taylor’s work for MLTC.
PTA’s Zara Brankovic Makes Australian Open
For the first time in many years, a junior associated with the Club has made the first round of the Girls Competition at the Australian Open. Zara Brankovic, who has been coached by Paul McNamara for several years now (and who many of you may remember from her performance at an Open Day exhibition) was drawn against Russia’s Daria Frayman in the first round. After taking an early break to lead in the first set, sadly Zara was edged out 7-5, 6-2 by her opponent. Club members Midori Matsuoka and David McCallum were on hand to support Zara.

Further Donations
Furthermore, the Club would also like to thank members who have contributed various electric goods and articles to the club of late (including some exotic liquors for the bar’s cocktail collection.)

So, if  members are ‘ de-cluttering’ and have some of those esoteric beverages that seemed like a good idea at the time but have rested in the cupboard ever since or just items (e.g. utensils, tools, kitchen appliances etc.) that they are planning to dispose of but which are still, we politely emphasise, in good working order and would be of benefit to the Club please let any Committee member know and if appropriate we’ll try to find a place for them.
