What a finish to an outstanding Sydney Badge season for Mosman Lawn Tennis Club!
Five MLTC teams contested Grand Finals, with three crowned Sydney Badge champions. It was a tremendous achievement for our players, captains and everyone who contributed throughout the season.
Men’s Team 2 – Division 2 – WON 4–3
Men’s Team 2 faced its toughest test of the season in an exceptionally close Grand Final. The team held its nerve to secure a brilliant 4–3 victory and the Division 2 premiership.
Men’s Team 5 – Division 8 – WON 6–1
After leading the competition throughout the season, Men’s Team 5 produced an outstanding Grand Final performance. Its dominant 6–1 victory was a fitting conclusion to a superb year.
Men’s Team 7 – Division 13 – WON 5–3
Men’s Team 7 performed strongly throughout the competition and delivered again when it mattered most, completing an excellent season with a 5–3 Grand Final victory.
Ladies Team 1 – Division 3 – 4–4
This Grand Final could hardly have been closer. Ladies Team 1 narrowly missed the premiership after the match finished 4–4, but reaching the Grand Final and producing such a determined performance capped an outstanding season.
Men’s Team 3 – Division 5 – 0–7
Men’s Team 3 faced exceptionally strong opposition in the Grand Final. Although it was not their day, reaching the final was a significant achievement and completed an excellent season for the team.
Five Grand Final teams and three Sydney Badge premierships represent an outstanding result for MLTC. Congratulations to every player who represented the Club and to our captains for their leadership and commitment throughout the season.
A special acknowledgment must go to Stuart Thompson for his substantial contribution to MLTC’s Sydney Badge program. Stuart has played an extremely important role in developing and supporting our higher-division teams and regularly assisted with the organisation and setup of Badge matches played at MLTC, including Grand Final day.
Thank you also to Shane Parker, MLTC’s Sydney Badge representative, for his work throughout the season, and to everyone who came to MLTC to support our teams.
Finally, special thanks to Phil Grange, Rob Reynolds, Doreen and Tony for their work in helping make Grand Final day such a success.
Congratulations to our three Sydney Badge premiership teams—and well done to all five MLTC Grand Final teams.
What an outstanding season for MLTC!
